Hazel Pegues - Executive Director of Diversity Focus
Just Google Hazel Pegues, and you’ll see why we’re so excited to have her at Diversity Focus.
Pegues, a 20-year veteran of the non-profit world joined the Cedar Rapids community from Cincinnati, Ohio in June of 2008. As President of Pegasus Consulting, LLC, she brings expertise in strategic planning, fundraising and board development. During her career she has worked with organizations such as Junior Achievement, Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, and The Friends of the School for Creative and Performing Arts, helping them leverage their workforce, programs and resources to ensure success through periods of growth and change. She also served as the Director of Partners in Education for the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative.
With a B.S. degree in Business Management from Hampton University, Pegues continues her professional development by attending workshops and learning conferences. She has long been involved with many community and professional organizations, ranging from Rotary International to AFP and United Way. She also has a passion for arts and culture and community theatre (from patron to performer)
Hazel joined Diversity Focus during the height of flood devastation, bringing her perspective and expertise on community diversity to the corridor region at a time when it is needed most.
